You’ve pulled a report and now you need to reference the data. You’re in luck! Citing Emsi data is super simple. Just list the datarun and, if you’d like, the particular classes of worker you used in the report. Listing the classes is a helpful note for internal use to remember exactly what types of jobs were included, but might be confusing to an outside party so use discretion. An example using the 2015.1 dataset, with classes of worker QCEW, non-QCEW, and Self-Employed would look like this:
Source: Emsi 2015.1
or, if you’d like to list the classes of worker:
Source: Emsi 2015.1; QCEW, non-QCEW, Self-Employed
You can find your datarun on the first page of the report that you’ve exported. Need more info on where the data came from? Each report has a Data Sources and Calculations appendix near the end listing individual sources used.
