What Dates Does an IPEDS Completion Year Include?

IPEDS completions are released annually, typically in late summer. An IPEDS year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30, and there is about a year lag between the end of the timeframe and the release of the data. For example, 2017 Completions data covers the period 7/1/16 – 6/30/17, was reported by institutions to IPEDS in Fall 2017, and was released in late summer of 2018.
